Tawny Owl and Barn Owl class have a visit from some familiar visitors

We learnt lots about the owls our classes are named after when Rachel visited us from North Somerset Birds of Prey Centre and brought along, not only a Barn Owl and Tawny Owl, but also a Little Owl and an Eagle Owl. At the end we had an opportunity to ask questions and the children came up with some excellent questions such as ‘how far can they turn their heads?’, ‘What does their diet consist of?’ and ‘What do their different coloured eyes mean?’. We are now compiling all the facts to create information reports. What an exciting start to Year Four.

Have a look at our pictures to see who was brave enough to touch an Eagle Owl!
