Share a story.
A huge thank you as always to all of our parents/ carers who were able to join us in our Share a Story session this afternoon. As always it was so lovely to see such a fantastic turn out. Reading is a whole school focus and we encourage you to read with your children as often as possible.
The children have all had a great start to year 1 and have settled into our new routines quickly. We began the term by looking at ourselves and some of the things that are important to us- Family, pets, homes, friends and of course our favourite foods.
This week we have started to learn the story of fumy bones. Each class received a letter from Dave the skeleton asking them to help with finding his friends – Bob, Brenda, Betty and Brian, they had fallen off the swings and broken into pieces. The children looked around the outdoor area for the skeleton pieces. They then worked in small groups and put Dave’s friends back together again. The children have also built and labelled their own skeletons and wrote lists of places that the skeletons passed on their little adventure.
In maths this week we have been exploring one more and one less and showing our answers using a range of resources.
Thank you again for your continued support.
