Our children in Year 2 visit The Salvation Army in small groups to read to their CAMEO group (Come and Meet Each Other). These visits are much anticipated and enjoy meeting with our pupils and sharing books:

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to both the staff and parents/guardians of St John and St Francis for donating £81.28 towards the international work of The Salvation Army.

Our thanks to the House Captains too, for their support and willingness to collect on our behalf!

The money will be gratefully received by our colleagues in both Turkey and Syria as they continue to support the families impacted by the devastating earthquakes.

Support for crisis in Ukraine Our school community has close links to The Salvation Army in Bridgwater, who very kindly offer ongoing and much appreciated support to our school and families. Please see our Wellbeing section for additional offers of support in response to needs within our Community,

With the continuing crisis in Ukraine uppermost in people’s thoughts, The Salvation Army are providing support in Ukraine with 9 corps (churches) and their Headquarters in Kyiv, and financial donations can be made directly to help this. Please click on this link for more information. Any amount is appreciated, and The Salvation Army Bridgwater will also be collecting any monetary contributions you may wish to donate from our school site at home time Mon 7th – Weds 9th March.

 Employment Plus The Salvation Army Bridgwater have a new drop-in at their community hall on Moorland Road. We have linked up with The Salvation Army’s ‘Employment Plus’ team and are offering free, confidential advice and support with a number of things. This service is for those who are actively looking for work, those who may need confidence in writing job applications, confidence-building in general, support with online applications and interview techniques. Employment Plus also offer help with budgeting, signposting those who may need more support with debt management, as well as offering a safe place for people to talk freely about their mental health. The drop-in sessions will be held on Tuesday and Thursday’s from 10.30am to 12.30pm and start 8th March. There is no need to make an appointment – but it can be helpful for the team to make contact before meeting face-to-face. Please see further information below:
